Bradley Wiggins, champion rider from the Team Sky squad will not toe the path toed by Shane Sutton, Dave Brailsford, and Simon Cope to appear in front of a committee of MPs who are in charge of investigating doping in sport.

The Chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) select committee, Damian Collins has confirmed that Wiggins will not be called to come before them and give evidence over the allegations of doping.

Collins made it known that he was not interested in investigating the individual medical records of athletes but the inquiry was more concerned with organizations who received public money.

He noted that British Cycling and Team Sky were being held to account mainly because they receive public money, as well as also to question the UKAD about their power and resources.

Bradley Wiggins To Ride In 2015 Giro d’Italia

Fausto Pinarello, the bike sponsor of Team Sky has said that Bradley Wiggins’s last Grand Tour is likely to be the next year’s Giro d’Italia which will be held in the month of May when he’ll be making his preparations for his Hour record attempt.

He said that he will definitely let Wiggins participate in the next year’s Giro d’Italia. He said that no other rider is more capable of winning the Giro than Wiggins.

He said that Wiggins would be making an attempt at the Hour record after the Giro and participating in the Giro d’Italia would prepare him for his Hour record attempt and he also considers that the time trial of Giro will show if Wiggins is capable of setting the Hour record or not. Team Sky has not announced yet which races of the upcoming season Wiggins will participate in. But it is certain that Wiggins, who won 2012 Tour de France and became world time trial champion this year, will race in Paris Roubaix and after that attempt the Hour record. Continue reading →
